Beauty Truths | Uncovering Fact from Fiction
Hormones: The New Powerful Anti-Aging Skin Care Ingredient

"Integrating hormones into oral supplements is nothing new, but science
has now drawn upon these benefits and is instilling hormonal components
and ingredients that act on hormones into skin care based on their
age-defying and skin-perfecting abilities."

Found on page 36, Precision Skin Rejuvenator is highlighted for its hormone-mimicking ingredients. "Even if a product doesn't contain a direct extract of a hormone, it still can activate its functionality and improve it. 'There are a lot of plant-derived ingredients, like phytoestrogens, that mimic the effects of hormones without any of the potential side effects,' says Dr. Murad."

"Since estrogen-based creams are available only through a prescription, many skin-care companies have looked to alternative ingredients, known as phytoestrogens, that act in a similar way to how estrogen does. The superconcentrated Apriori Beauty Precision Skin Rejuvenator addresses hormonal imbalances that come along with mature skin, reducing inflammation and working to rejuvenate the skin."

Importance of a Skin Care Regimen

Importance of a Skin Care Regimen
What’s your favorite skin care product? Now ask yourself: can that product provide every benefit you desire to achieve beautiful, healthy skin? Chances are the answer is no.

We all have our favorite products, but it’s unlikely that there’s one “silver bullet” product out there that can fill all of your skin’s needs. The skin around your eyes and lips is physiologically different from that on your forehead, cheeks, or chin. A brilliantly formulated, moisturizing cleanser is still unlikely to provide the hydrating boost that a moisturizing cream can . . . It is for these kinds of reasons that a regimen — a skin care system that incorporates a carefully chosen combination of products in conjunction with one another — is often the most effective way to make skin look and feel beautiful.

Why use a complete regimen?

1) Different formulations provide unique benefits to skin.
Example — Serums penetrate easily to deliver anti-aging ingredients deep into skin, but do not hydrate like creams and lotions. Celloxylin Firming Complex is designed to deliver a boost of anti-aging ingredients deep into skin, while Day Defense Plus and Night Repair 3Deep help form a protective barrier against moisture loss from the skin’s surface.

2) Layering products in a strategic way allows for the most effective delivery of beneficial ingredients.
Example — Humectant ingredients such as Tremella fuciformis extract in the Activating Tonic help skin drink in hydrating ingredients from the Firming Complex. If you apply Firming Complex immediately after Activating Tonic (while skin is still moist), your skin will be able to better utilize the its complete anti-aging benefits.

3) Different parts of your skin have different needs.
Example — The area around your eyes and lips produces less natural oil than the rest of your face, and is more prone to premature aging from repetitive movement. The Eye + Lip Age Eraser is slightly thicker than a full-face cream, and is jam packed with anti-aging ingredients to protect and nourish the delicate skin around the eyes and lips.

The Celloxylin® daily regimen for face from Apriori Beauty utilizes products that work synergistically to deliver maximum anti-aging results. The regimen is complimented by Lifeoxylin® Cellular Defense Elixir, the ultimate in internal antioxidant and anti-aging protection. Lifeoxylin + Celloxylin combined provide complete internal + external support to nourish and protect your skin, helping you achieve the healthier, younger looking skin you desire.

What can Far Infrared FIR Do For You? Your Skin Will Tell The Story!

Far Infrared Light (FIR)
“Infrared light is anti-inflammatory, and we know that inflammation is responsible for aging. How could it not work on aging when inflammation is aging?” — Patricia Wexler, MD, Vogue (July 2011)Far infrared light (FIR) is a type of light emitted by the sun that falls out of the visible spectrum. In recent years, FIR technology has become increasingly recognized for a variety of reported benefits, including its ability to improve the health and appearance of skin. Unlike UV light, which is responsible for the majority of skin aging, FIR light may help stimulate skin cell growth and regeneration. Studies have shown that FIR can increase skin temperature and blood flow, reduce inflammation, improve cellular metabolism, and increase collagen synthesis. FIR is now being proposed as a viable therapy for everything from accelerating wound healing to addressing the visible signs of skin aging.
So, how does FIR work on the skin? FIR can be administered to skin using light-emitting diodes (LEDs), originally developed by NASA to help grow plants in space. According to a recent article in Vogue (July 2011), “The way in which LED therapy works in skin is similar to the process of photosynthesis: Precise wavelengths emitted by the tiny bulbs pass through the dermis, energizing injured cells and stimulating cellular activity.” Essentially, FIR therapy helps skin function in a more efficient, healthier manner.
Apriori Beauty’s Derma Firm Illuminator incorporates FIR therapy as one of four technologies utilized by the device to address skin aging at the cellular level. During the wrinkle (“W”) treatment cycles, FIR light is activated to deliver benefits to the skin and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The result — skin that is visibly firmer, more radiant, and younger looking!
